About Costa del Sol

With over 300 days of sunshine a year and over 30 golf courses, the Costa del Sol has become a world-class golfing destination and has become the premier winter golfing destination in Europe. Andalusia is home to 33 % of all golf courses in Spain with more than half along the Costa del Sol - otherwise known as the Costa del Golf.

Last year nearly 1 million golfers arrived on the Costa del Sol. More courses have been built as a result with still more in the pipeline and established courses are re-investing to improve their quality still further.

Sea, sand, sunshine and loads of fabulous golf courses make the Costa del Sol one of Spain’s most visited stretches of coastline, which incidentally is 161 km long.

The Costa del Sol has, right from the beginning, always attracted the rich and famous. They come to this international tourist destination to relax and enjoy a holiday or to spend a few weeks in the many properties that they have bought here. People like Sean Connery and Bruce Willis have been coming to the Costa del Sol for many years. Antonio Banderas and Julio Iglesias have recently bought some properties here as well.

Málaga airport, which is also known as Pablo Ruiz Picasso airport, is the fourth busiest airport in Spain (almost ten million passengers each year) and has the capacity for 500 flights per day. You can fly direct to the majority of the main European capitals as well as big international cities like New York. Many companies also offer regular charter flights to these destinations.
